4 Ways to Finance a Power Stretcher

Stretchers and cots can experience a lot of wear and tear due to the nature of their use. Over time, these important resources will need to be replaced. Unfortunately, replacing them can become costly. Here are three ways your facility can finance a new, high-quality Stryker power stretcher.

EMS Partnerships

If your agency is currently financing all equipment and supply purchases, you are missing out on all the opportunities to partner with local agencies, group-buying entities, and community organizations. Check to see what other agencies in your area are purchasing equipment on their own and work together to purchase new stretchers and cots in larger quantities, saving you both money.

Reach out to local businesses in your community, especially those whom you provide regular service to. Ask for their support or donations for new equipment. In return, offer an incentive, such as advertising, or giving credit on social media with a post that says something like “This stretcher was funded by the generous donation from XXX Company.” This not only allows different business and organizations around your community to get involved, but it also keeps them invested.

EMS Grants

There are countless opportunities for funding through local, regional, state, and national grants. These are even more readily available for nonprofit agencies. Often, municipal agencies are also eligible for these grants, as there are some that are specifically for offsetting taxpayer dollars. There are even grants available for some for-profit agencies. These grants are typically tax-funded and aim to support private businesses that are contracted directly with municipalities to provide emergency medical services.

Consider Financing a Power Stretcher Purchase

When possible, budgeting over time can help reduce the financial impact of purchasing a new stretcher. Additionally, budgeting for new equipment shows your fiduciaries that you are saving for a necessary expense. This purchase will get used frequently, ensuring a good return on your investment.

In a perfect world, paying for a large purchase up-front with cash is the way to go. Although, this may not always be feasible. Work with your vendor to see what financing options they offer and find the one that works best for you. Being able to spread out payments over time can help you make the necessary purchase without hurting your budget.

Purchase a Refurbished Power Stretcher

Another great way to afford a replacement Stryker power stretcher or cot is to look for a refurbished model. Refurbished models will generally be more affordable than a brand new one, but will still be a quality piece of equipment. Refurbished equipment has been repaired as needed to meet manufacturer specifications. Purchasing a refurbished model may be a better choice for your budget than a brand-new model.

When your agency is in need of a new power stretcher or another essential piece of equipment, it is important to do your research and find the supplier that will best to meet your needs. At Coast Biomedical Equipment, we provide quality refurbished equipment that is both reliable and affordable.
